STAT Medical Devices, Inc.® has re-designed the packaging for its popular Stat-Let Auto – Clinical Safety Lancets. “We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our products,” says Steve Schraga, President/Executive Director R&D – SMD. “This wasn’t about aesthetics, this re-design actually improves on the delivery of the product by reducing two potential risks. In the previous packaging, the devices were loosely packed in a plastic pouch. In the new packaging, the devices are tightly packed in a multi-row configuration, which improves the rigidity of the package and reduces the risk of damage to the devices and the packaging itself during shipping. This new tighter configuration also reduces the risk of caps coming off the devices before their intended use.”
“There are additional eco and economical benefits to the re-design as well,” says Schraga. “The new packaging holds the same number of devices (100 count), but the 45% reduction in mass, means less raw materials for packaging and more products can now be shipped in the same container space. Its a win/win for our customers and the environment, reducing paper and fuel costs.”
The new packaging will soon be available for all 6 Stat-Let Auto – Clinical Safety Lancets: the 1.8 mm/26 gauge, Tender; 1.8 mm/21 gauge, Comfort; 2.4 mm/21 gauge, Normal; 1.8 mm/26 gauge, Pediatric; 1.2 mm/18 gauge, Neonatal/Heelstick and the new 1.6 mm/28 gauge, Lite – one of the smallest gauge clinical safety lancets on the market today.
